Spectrum Health is an Irish owned, allied healthcare company who have grown to over 35 locations nationwide, offering convenient and effective care to their patients with data portability between locations. Although they have a number of their own flagship clinics in Dublin and Cork, the majority of locations are housed within Primary Care Centres and GP Practices, providing the much needed services of Physiotherapy, Psychology, Podiatry and Dietetics.
“Our aim is to provide seamless, clinically robust services to patients, doctors and specialists, with one referral pathway, better patient outcomes and a reduction of the fragmented allied healthcare market,” says Anne McGoldrick, co-founder, Managing Director and Physiotherapist.
“This fragmentation means it is very difficult to know who to trust with you or your family’s health. Where do you go with your back pain, your depression, your irritable bowel syndrome, and who do you visit if your child stutters or has a verruca? There are so many conditions and health problems that can be simply addressed if you simply know who to see. We are building a company that delivers properly qualified health care professionals who are recognised and trusted within the medical community to ensure you get the care you need when you need it.”
This is achieved with a focus on maintaining clinical standards and ensuring that all of their Clinicians maintain their continual professional development, are members of their relevant professional bodies and are eligible for state registration with CORU.
“We also use technology to improve our reach, with video and telephone consultations available for those unable or too far away to travel. We can, in some cases, offer App-based rehabilitation which reduces the need to come into clinic for treatment progressions for those who travel a lot or who, like many of us, are ‘time-poor,’” McGoldrick says.
The recent expansion with Affidea was not a difficult decision, McGoldrick explains; “Affidea is an incredibly professional organisation and their ambition to provide an extraordinary patient service aligns perfectly with our own patient-focused goals. Our services complement each other so well, not just with the full range of diagnostic services available but also with their new ExpressCare facilities and the recent addition of much needed Concussion Services in Ireland.”
Affidea Country Manager Barry Downes said; “Our relationship with the team at Spectrum has been long-standing and one of mutual benefit. There is a great synergy between what Affidea offer through our network of ExpressCare and diagnostic imaging clinics, and what Spectrum deliver. Our ethos is similar – better patient outcomes and the aggregation of services to reduce fragmentation.”
“For us to be able to offer patients on site access to physiotherapy and other rehabilitation services is what creates the added value for both our patients. Clearly defined and managed pathways are the key to better patient outcomes. The expansion of our service partnership is a further commitment by both Affidea and Spectrum to ensuring improvement and efficiencies in health service delivery.”
