The 2018 Affidea ExpressCare Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon has announced that Irish band, The Blizzards, will headline the Finish Line Concert in Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Sunday August 12!
In addition to the headliner concert, live bands of every genre will play along the race course, providing high energy motivation and entertainment for runners as they run through the streets of Dublin on their way to the finish line.
The Blizzards are one of the biggest bands in Ireland and it’s not hard to see why. Their unashamedly power pop sound has been a hit with audiences since day one. After a hiatus, The Blizzards are back and bigger than ever, storming their way to the top of the charts with their comeback single “Show Me The Science”. With a recently-completed, sold-out “Back To Basics” tour in Ireland, and a new album on the way, The Blizzards yet again affirm their position on the Irish music scene as they continue to take fans by storm.
“The Affidea ExpressCare Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin has something for everyone with a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Family Fun Run taking place during the course of the weekend. We invite runners, music lovers and Dublin fun-seekers to come enjoy what is sure to be a brilliant weekend,” said Stacey Campbell, Vice President of Global Events for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “We are thrilled to have The Blizzards headlining our finish line concert, and with nearly 16,000 participants and two days of running, our 2018 event is sure to move you.”
Barry Downes, Country Manager of Affidea – Ireland’s leading healthcare provider of diagnostic imaging and treatment of minor injuries – said: “As a strong supporter of the sporting community, we are proud to be title sponsor of the Affidea ExpressCare Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin race series for the third year. Our new ExpressCare Minor Injuries and Illnesses Walk-In Clinics at Tallaght Cross East in Dublin and The Elysian in Cork mean all athletes can now access the country’s best diagnostics and treatment facilities quickly and efficiently. Our staff are all in training and sharing tips on our blog, so I look forward to beating my PB this year with The Blizzards to unwind to at our Affidea Family finish line party!”
