EXPRESSCARE MINOR INJURY CLINIC TO ADD NAAS TO THEIR SPONSORSHIP OF ITRA’S LEAGUES ALONG SIDE EXISTING CORK PARTNERSHIP

January, 2020

We are delighted to announce that Affidea ExpressCare Minor Injury & Illnesses Clinic are set to continue their sponsorship of the ITRA Cork Leagues this year, as well as commencing our sponsorship of the ITRA Naas Leagues.

As part of the sponsorship package, the Affidea ExpressCare logo will feature on all referee jerseys, balls and tags used in both the Cork and Naas leagues, while essential information about the state-of-the-art services at ExpressCare will be available to all competing tag rugby players at the various participating grounds. In addition to this, ITRA will be introducing a new Medical Advice section to their website. This will include six short videos from Dr. Tony Lynch from ExpressCare where he will discuss the most common tag rugby injuries, as well as tips from former Munster and Ireland Rugby International, David Corkery. David’s tips will be based around the importance of the first 24 hours after sustaining an injury. There will also be an option to e-mail Dr. Tony Lynch in relation to any injury sustained whilst playing tag rugby (we need to get confirmation of this?), and an ExpressCare flyer will also be provided. With venues in Cork Con FC, Garryduff Sports Centre and St. Finbarr’s over New Year, Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn and Winter seasons, more than 2,300 taggers play in ITRA’s Cork Leagues each year and these numbers are expected to continue to grow. ITRA’s Naas Leagues will take place in the Naas Sports Centre throughout the Spring and Summer (do we have numbers here?)

Aidan Walsh, ITRA Sponsorship Manager says:

“We’re delighted to have ExpressCare on board as a sponsor again this year and are looking forward to working with them to develop and grow ITRA Tag Rugby in both Cork and Naas.”

Barry Downes, Affidea’s Country Manager, says:

“We’re excited to continue to partner with ITRA Tag Rugby in Cork and Naas and inform the tag community about our world-class walk-in clinics, which are open each day from 10am to 10pm, allowing players who get injured during a tag match to be seen quickly and efficiently by ExpressCare staff.”

David Corkery, former Ireland and Munster rugby player and Affidea Business Development Manager, says:

“It’s fantastic that we are continuing our sponsorship of the ITRA Tag Rugby Leagues in Cork this year. In addition to this, we are beginning our sponsorship of the Tag Rugby Leagues in Naas. This is a particularly exciting partnership for ExpressCare and I’m really looking forward to visiting all the venues over the year to watch some quality tag rugby.”
